FRINGE REVIEW: Beaver Dams is educational and fun!

The Lost and Found Puppet Company deserves first prize for creativity in this delightful show about an ongoing battle between beavers and summer visitors to the Laurentian Mountains near Montreal.  The two young women, one from Montreal, one from Vancouver, are both dressed as beavers and come complete with trilling sounds which are not any language but are completely understandable.

Their use of beaver puppets, together with a terrain of the lake and mountains, and clever projections and shadow images, make Beaver Dreams a fascinating show. The story is based on fact – how the generations of one family tried to balance the natural world with their own summer cabin life, while at the same time preventing huge commercial development.  So the show is educational, fun, and well worth seeing!

Just two more opportunities to catch Beaver Dams.  Take your Fringe button and $11 ($9 if you are a student or a senior) to the Metro Studio, 1411 Quadra: Friday September 1 at 8:15 pm and Saturday September 2 at 12:00 noon.
