If you love colour, pattern, kitsch and all things vintage inspired, then you will love Paradise Boutique.

I feel like this store on lower Johnson was designed for me because it has everything I love about fashion.

I like to use fashion as a form of self expression by combining fun prints and bright colours. This is the perfect way to make a statement with your wardrobe.

If you look into my closet you would notice that every item of clothing that I have consists of a unique novelty print or bright colour. I have always been obsessed with prints and textiles and used them as my main source of inspiration for my paintings while studying at Emily Carr. I am drawn to clothing with fun and unique prints like this floral Yumi dress that goes perfectly with this fun purple Sun Jelly Bag.

Since my dress is so bold, I decided to pair it with a soft pink belt and a simple, yet chic necklace by local designer Meike Lily.

The next time you go to a clothing store start to take notice of all the prints and you will be surprised how many unique prints and textiles are out there.

If you are a local designer or artisan and would like to be considered for a feature in a future issue of Monday Magazine, please email me at laurajaneatellier@gmail.com
