Launch Pad Theatre Company presents Twelfth(ish) Night, adapted from William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night from March 28 to April 14 at Craigdarroch Castle.
Come in your snazziest cocktail attire and enjoy an evening of classy entertainment, a glass of bubbly and a beautiful re-imagining of one of the Bard’s most well-loved comedies during this effervescent parlour evening.
Viola is in love with Orsino, who is in love with Olivia, who is in love with Cesario, who really is Viola. Welcome to the country of Illyria, where the fool of the court is the least foolish of all.
Following sold out runs of their productions, RED DEATH and Radio, Mistletoe & My Man Godfrey; “Pick of the Fringe” and “M Award” winners, Launch Pad Theatre Co. will bring in the spring with this feverish, fast paced farce, perfectly tailored to the Ballroom of Victoria’s only Kingdom for a stage. Cocktail attire is encouraged (no stilettos please).
Adapted and Directed by David Radford and Christina Patterson (Tara Firm and the Lunar War Chronicles, Much (Less) Ado About Nothing), this fresh take on Twelfth Night stars the husband and wife team of Patterson (Lieutenant Nun) and Radford, and a powerhouse cast of Victoria actors; Ian Case (Giggling Iguana Theatre Co), Griffin Lea (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hedwig & the Angry Inch), Connie McConnell (The Girl in the Goldfish Bowl), Cam Culham (The Prisoner of Second Avenue) and Jared Gowen and Graham Croft (Arkenham Abbey).
With FOLEY by Emma Dickerson, and costumes designed by Martha Burd, to woo you in this waggish and witty farce, it’s not Shakespeare as it would have been seen. It’s Shakespeare as it should have been seen!
Bard in the Ballroom is a fresh take on classic plays with a Kingdom for a stage. Bard with bubbly wine is $36, Bard with bubbly water is $30. Castle members will receive a discount on ticket price.
