Maple Blues Awards nominee, International Blues Festival competitor, guitarist, songwriter and singer Arsen Shomakhov will bring his brand of electric blues to the TallyHo Sports Bar on Jan. 7.

With influences such as Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Jimi Hendrix and John Mclaughlin, Shomokov delivers a diverse range of blues styles that make him stand out. Picked twice by the White Rock Blues Society to be their International Blues Competition representative (2014 & 2016), Shomokov and his band took their talents all the way to the semi-finals.

“The Victoria Blues Society is looking forward to a wonderful night of Arsen’s music,” said society chair, Deb Rhymer. “We are proud to bring this talented performer into Victoria.”

The Arsen Shomokov Trio features Bruce O’Neill on bass and Chip Hart on drums and has played at festivals across the US and Canada including: The King Biscuit Blues Festival, Waterfront Blues Festival, Edmonton’s Labatt Blues Festival, Montreal International Blues Festivals, and the Calgary International Blues Festival, to name a few.

Opening for the Arsen Shomokov Trio is Allman Brother tribute band, Blue Sky.
