Kim Greenwood will perform for Spirited Jazz Sunday at the First Unitarian Church in Saanich.

The Kim Greenwood Ensemble will be this month’s guest for the Spirited Jazz performance Sunday at the First Unitarian Church in Saanich.

Greenwood will join Doug Farr (vibes), Gary Theal (guitar), Bill Kent (bass) and Barry Gray (drums) for the May 15 performance which begins at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary at 5565 West Saanich Rd. Admission is by donation.

Greenwood  is a crossover vocalist, equally comfortable performing jazz, pop, classical and musical theatre and dedicated to mastering the adaption of physical technique required to do so. She is the lead singer for Commodores Big Band, which has been performing since 1988 and performs regularly at Butchart Gardens, the Swiftsure, Oak Bay Tea Gardens and the Saanich Strawberry Festival.

Spirited Jazz is the collaboration between jazz musician Gary Theal and Rev. Shana Lynngood, exploring the connection between jazz and spirituality.
